Curio Cabinet 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello.

I am trying to find out anything about the Gettysburg Furniture Company. I have saved a curio cabinet from certain demise and it is most likely worthless due to the extreme damage it has suffered but I am attempting a restore due to its sentimental value. Therefore the value of the cabinet is secondary to any of the historical information I can gain.

The cabinet had a paper label on the back of it which stated that it was made by the Gettysburg Furniture Company Manufacturers: Gettysburg, Penn'a.

The Pattern No. (clearly reads as)656 the finish looks to read c4e. There is an order no. which looks like it reads 2416 and the date is blank. It is difficult to read these markings because they are written in pencil and heavily faded.

The cabinet has been damaged by the elements and the legs have been "sawed" off. It was my grandmother's though, and I want to try to save it. I am especially interested in the Pattern Number and if this company is still in business, etc. I'd also like to know about the finish as it will be much easier to strip if I know what I am dealing with.

I can attach pictures if needed.

Many thanks to any and all who might be able to help.

-P.

1853 Bed frame with upholstered toile headboard 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I was cleaning out my mother-in-laws storage and found a bed frame and headboard. after some research the stamped number indicates that it was manufactured in 1853 and the headboard is upholstered with black "Countryside" toile pattern fabric. I have been trying to find out and approximate value but since i am in Montana, we have very limited resources. I was not able to find a manufactures name or label
