Re:who made it 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Have a set of dining room furniture sold by Flint & Horner of New York. The table extends to about 6 feet in length and about 20 inches in width. It is embossed with flowers gold in color, with 2 side chairs, no arms very unique, 2 bench styled seats, and I believe it is called a server, which has 2 side doors, and 2 drawers in the middle. Does anyone know where I can find out who or what company made this unique set. Thanks, Marie

Oak cabinet - fair price 10 Months, 1 Week ago
A friend offered to sell me this oak cabinet but will not give me an asking price, only saying, "whatever you think is fair." She and her husband have had it for 40 or more years; her aunt before that. She was told to be dated early 1900's. What is a fair price?

Well, for some reason the image did not load so will give a desription.
Oak cabinet of plain workmanship (nothing ornate) with 2 glass doors at top, 2 drawers in the middle and 2 solid doors at bottom; 3 shelves top and bottom; doors have keyhole but no knobs (no evidence of ever having knobs); each drawer has a brass-looking pull; 4 short legs.

Boy that sounds identical to what my mom had when I was growing up. She kept fancy china on the top, silverware in drawer's and bottom tablecloths, large bowls etc. It was very plain but well built and solid oak. My Mom and Dad were married in 1921 and got it shortly after that. The top part sat on top of bottom part (2 pieces). These china cupboards usually sell in the midwest here at auction for $250.00 to $275.00 in good condition.

I did forget to mention this cabinet/cupboard is one piece; no sideboard yet very functional and beautiful. Thank you for the reply, it gives me a price range to start with.

j and j Kohn bentwood chairs 10 Months, 1 Week ago
I have recently picked a couple of Kohn bentwood chairs. I am unable to find any value reference other than the unreliable ebay expectations. Does any one know anything about Kohn chairs. Mine are a basic style, no arms on them. Thanks!
