Last month we were trying to identify a “whatsit” and searched our many tool books. The Dictionary of American Hand Tools by Alvin Sellens (Schiffer, Atglen, PA, $39.95, c2002, 546 pages) pictures it. Good information, but, unfortunately, there is no index.
