Q: My great-uncle used to work with Tom Mix in movies, the circus, and the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch Wild West Show. He received this greeting card from Mix in 1926 or 1927. Any idea what it would sell for?

A: Tom Mix (1880-1940) is best known for his movies. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1909 and 1935. At one time, he was the highest-paid cowboy star in Hollywood. Before he became an actor, he worked as a bartender, drummer, laborer, night marshal, ranch hand, and circus and rodeo performer. He was married five times. In 1918 he married his fourth wife, Victoria Forde, who often costarred in his movies. The marriage lasted until 1931. Your card pictures Mix's home in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he lived from 1922 to 1929, and a picture of Mix on his horse. The other two people pictured are probably his wife, Victoria, and their daughter, Thomasina, born in 1922. Tom Mix was killed in a one-car accident in 1940. Value of your card: under $25.
