Q: I inherited a wire and spindle-back chair from my parents. It has an arched back that continues into arms. Some of the spindles have round ends with a carved design and some have ends that are ball shaped. I remember when they brought it home from an auction. I was about 4 years old and we all laughed as my mother held onto the chair while it was hanging outside the passenger window of our old Ford automobile. I’m 75 now, so that would have been about 1944. I would love to learn more about the chair – when it was made and its value.
