Q: This porcelain ashtray came from Germany. It pictures a statue in some trees and the word “Hermannsdenkmal” on the front. There are two marks on the back. The original mark, “Plankenhammer Floss,” is overstamped with a gilt stamp, “Fritz Montag Porta Westfalica.” Why is the mark overstamped?
