This is an original plywood "Cherner chair," designed in 1957-58 by Norman Cherner (1920-1987) and manufactured for only a short time because it was too expensive. The sidechair version was produced into the early 1970s by Plycraft Inc. The Cherner Chair Co., founded in 1999 by Norman's sons, Thomas and Benjamin, sells new Cherner armchairs and side chairs.
