The Metamorphic Library Chair and Dual Purpose Furniture

This 1850s American Renaissance carved oak chair turns into a five-step ladder. The chair has paw feet and a carved head on the lower seat rail. It closely resembles a patented American chair by Augustus Eliaers of Boston. The metamorphic chair is estimated to sell at a spring Neal Auction in New Orleans for $5,000 to $7,500.
