Re:Silver or not 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Hi everyone, this is my first post and I’m a bit nervous.

I have a Salver, and have no idea if it is silver or plate. The only marks I can find says BENETFINK & Co CHEAPSIDE LONDON with the numbers 798 Also on the underside rim there is a very small letter M The salver is 10" across and stands on 3 feet (1" high) which look like claws. The salver is quite ornate and weighs 525 grms. I have researched Benetfink & Co and the salver appears to be dated c 1852 - 1861 I was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me if this salver is in fact silver, or plated. There are no marks to indicate either, only as indicated earlier in this message. I would be grateful for any advice from anyone please.

I have an old bell, it is either brass or cast iron. It has letters on it RC & BRR. Does anyone know what this means or what kind of bell this is? I tried to put a picture in this post but it is not working

Metal pots, pitchers, cups, urns 2 Years ago
I have in my posession several pieces of metalware that belongs to an estate sale client of mine. He says these pieces were sent to him by his daughter while she was in Israel. The daughter says these items were from an archealogical dig. I'm not sure what they are made of. It looks like some of it could be pewter, some copper. These items look like they are all hand wrought. I can't find out anything about these items as far as material, price, what they actually are or anything else. Does anybody know or have an idea where I could research these things?

Nautilus No Maker's Mark 2 Years ago
This is owned by a friend, I suggested to him that it is a serving piece. I saw one similar a few moments ago on ebay. It was a bit different, but was listed as a Victorian Spoon warmer. What the heck is a spoon warmer? This is a heavy piece, the bottom footing is heavy cast metal and a bolt on the bottom holds the shell in place. No maker's marks and the silver plate is worn and tarnished. Any information would be helpful on this piece and the history of Victorian Spoon warmers! Thanks!
