Union Porcelain Works was originally William Boch & Brothers, a company that made Rococo Revival pitchers with leafy scrolls and ear-shaped handles. Thomas C. Smith purchased William Boch & Brothers in 1861 and renamed it Union Porcelain Works. The company closed in 1922. Do not confuse this company with its competitor, Charles Cartlidge and Company, which also worked in Greenpoint, New York.
