Old Ivory |
|
|
Old Ivory china was made by the Ohme Porcelain Works in Silesia, Germany, a factory working from 1882 to 1928. The china had an ivory matte background and was usually decorated with flowers or fruit. Dinner sets, fish sets, mustache cups, and souvenir pieces were made. Pieces were marked with a crown, the cipher OH, and the word Silesia. Some pieces are also marked with the words Old Ivory. The pattern numbers appear on the base of many pieces. Originally marketed in retail stores as affordable china, Old Ivory china was later used as promotional gifts.
