Luneville Luneville

Luneville, a French faience factory, was established about 1730 by Jacques Chambrette. It is best known for its fine biscuit figures and groups and for large faience dogs and lions. The early pieces were unmarked. Luneville became an immediate competitor with English and German ceramics companies and was awarded the title Manufacture Royale de Fayence by the Ducs of Larraine in 1749. The firm was acquired by Keller and Guerin and is still working.
