Shearwater Shearwater

Shearwater pottery is a family business started by Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Anderson, Sr., and their three sons. The local Ocean Springs, Mississippi, clays were used to make the wares in the 1930s. Shearwater pottery was made from two clays, a white-bodied "ball clay" and a buff-bodied clay. The company was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 but rebuilt, reopened, and is in business.
