Pate-de-verre

Pate-de-verre is an ancient technique in which glass is made by blending and refining powdered glass of different colors into molds. It was first used by Egyptians about 3,600 years ago. The process was revived by French glassmakers, especially Galle, around the end of the nineteenth century.
