Help identify this Hutschenreuther Selb plate 1 Year ago  


I inherited this plate and am trying to find any information on the plate. All I have been able to find is the informtaion on the back that says HR Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria. Any information on the pattern and value would be helpful. Thank you!

If you could add a picture of the mark, we could roughly date the item and see if it was made in the main factory or modified at their art department.

Note that German manufacturers often did not name their decorations (or series); many molds (shapes) however were named. On the other hand, retailers and distibutors often decided to invent names, hence there are very often more than one name for each.

Shown mark was based on the standard issue used all the way from 1857 until 1920; the 'BAVARIA' was added in 1889 and used until 1920 on items for export.

Very cool. Thank you! We have to catalogue these items since this is an inheritance. Do you have an idea on what the value of a piece like this might be?

Sorry, but I personally never comment on value as there are too many factors involved that I can not influence or even know.
