Mary Gregory glass is named for a woman who may or may not have worked at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company in Sandwich, Massachusetts, in the late 19th century. The glass was clear or colored with white enamel-painted decoration picturing children at play. It is now thought the early pieces were all made in Bohemia.
