Q: I'm trying to find the maker of my silver bowl. It has this mark on the bottom. Can you tell me who made it and how old it is?

A: This mark was used by the Acme Silver Co. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company made sterling silver and silver-plated wares in the 1880s and 1890s. Acme Silver Co. was founded in about 1885. It was sold to W.K. George in 1893 and became part of Standard Silver Co.
