October 2012

Frans Wildenhain is a potter (1905-1980) who worked in Rochester, New York from about 1950 to 1975. He moved from Germany to Holland to California to New York and taught and created pottery. His work was on display this year at the Rochester Institute of Technology. There has been a lot of recent publicity about Wildenhain and the Rochester exhibit's catalog is available through the university's website. Collectors are sure to search for his works now and prices probably will rise.
