Q: Can you identify this mark. Is it old?

A: The mark was used by the Norfolk Pottery Co. Ltd. of Shelton, Staffordshire, England. The company was located on Norfolk Street. Very little is known about the pottery except that it was founded in 1958. Royal Norfolk items can be found online at prices ranging from $5 to $40.

The dishes at our local Dollar Store mostly carry the Royal Norfolk stamp.

The brand "Royal Norfolk" and the mark pictured above are registered
trademarks of Greenbrier International of Chesapeake, Virginia (Norfolk County
hence the name) which operates Dollar Tree Stores. This mark is used for
housewares including dinnerware that is imported from China. This piece absent
of a country of origin mark was most likely produced for them.
