Q: I have a pair of porcelain plaques like this one. I cannot identify the maker or find the pair’s value. These plaques were given to me by my grandmother and I would love to know more about them. This mark is on the back of each plaque.

A: Your plaque with a courting couple was made by F. Wessel Porcelain Manufactory in Frankenthal, Germany. It's a 20th-century firm founded by Friedrich Wilhelm Wessel in 1949. Wessel produced porcelain figurines, gift items, and household goods. The factory closed before 1964. Plaques are difficult to sell, so a value is difficult to determine.
