Q: Can you tell me something about this piece of pottery signed "Ferrel"? How much is it worth?
A: The signature on your pottery is "Ferrell" (some sources spell the name with one "l," but it’s spelled with two). Frank Ferrell (1871-1961) designed and made pottery for several companies in Zanesville, Ohio, including Weller, Owens, Peters & Reed, and Roseville. He was the art director at Roseville Pottery from 1917 to 1954. He designed more than 90 lines for Roseville. Some of his pieces are marked "Ferrell" and some are marked with his initials, "FF." Your piece appears to be part of Roseville's Pine Cone line, which was designed by Ferrell in 1935. Value: $200-$300.
