FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Summary: Collectors search for dolls, bottles and clocks at Kovels.com, the Web’s largest free online antiques and collectibles price guide.
CLEVELAND – May 1, 2012 – The Kovels’ Top 15 list is based on the results of hundreds of thousands of items searched on the Kovels website during April 2012.
The Kovels.com Top 15 list indicates the interests of average collectors of antiques and collectibles. Searches are inspired by well-publicized events (Dolls top the list perhaps because there were major auctions in April, Bottles because it’s the start of the dig season, and Toys because of a major national toy show). Searches are also prompted by the results of big sales (like three recent sales of large Coca-Cola collections) or news stories (like recent record prices for pictures found in thrift stores or attics). Sometimes memorabilia collectors are looking for items that are easy to identify because they have a mark that includes a famous maker like Royal Bayreuth or Wedgwood. And sometimes their searches are for an unfamiliar item found at a yard sale.
Collectors who search Kovels.com are always motivated by wanting to know more—about descriptions, marks and prices. Kovels.com and Kovels' Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide list thousands of prices in hundreds of categories that are carefully selected, edited and current.
In April 2012 searches on Kovels.com, these were the Top 15:
5. Occupied Japan
8. Royal Copley
11. Copeland Spode
15. Royal Bayreuth
