Look for Loetz Glass

April 2012

Loetz glass is more popular with European buyers than with American buyers, and the prices for middle-range pieces here have come down in the past five years. If you are a collector, it is a good time to look for large Loetz pieces at shops and shows. You may find a bargain.

I have a lovely Eastern Hard Rock Maple bedroom set which i no longer have use
or the room for. Is there any demand out there for this beautiful wood set, and
what I should price it at if so.
Thank-you so much for any info'

Aneri.

Most of what is sold as low end Loetz is not really Loetz! For many, many years
the idea in dealer's minds has been that "If it is green, has some
iridescence, and a polished pontil" has to be Loetz and they mark it as
such. Do your research and buy from a reputable dealer.
