The last check President Lincoln wrote, dated April 13, 1865, the day before he was shot, was found in a box of checks that are 150 to 200 years old. They were found in a storeroom at the Huntington Bank in Cleveland in 2010. The signatures on the checks also included Charles Dickens, Thomas Edison, George Washington, and other important politicians, writers, inventors, composers, and businessmen. The checks are now part of a display at a new branch in Brooklyn, Ohio. It will be shown in the next year in bank branches in six states.
