December 2011

Robins are often pictured on vintage Christmas cards. Old British folk tales connect the robin with the Crucifixion story. But it's also said that the robin's association with the holidays dates from the 1860s when sending greeting cards became fashionable and the postmen in Victorian Britain wore red uniforms and were nicknamed "Robins."

It is also said that any wish you make on seeing the first robin of the new year will come true. But wish quickly—because if the bird flies away before the wish is finished, it will bring bad luck.

Terry Kovel, Kim Kovel, and the staff at Kovels wish you a Happy New Year with pleasant surprises and treasures in your search for the perfect collectibles. Look for a robin so you can make a quick wish.

I wish you'll had a TV show. I love anything old,I have collected a lot of stuff
over the years. Some people say that some of it is worth some money but to me
it's just things I love. I do have somethings i"d like to know if they are
worth having them insured.
