November 2011

It's almost Thanksgiving. Are you serving turkey? Start a tradition of serving Thanksgiving dinner on decorated plates—like this one by Dedham Pottery. The company, which operated in Dedham, Massachusetts from the 1890s until 1943, was famous for its crackleware dishes that picture blue outlines of animals, flowers and other natural designs.

The border of this Dedham Pottery plate is decorated with turkeys. It sold at a Skinner auction in Boston for $245.
