At sunset on Wednesday, September 28, Jews begin to celebrate one of their most important religious holidays, Rosh Hashanah. It is the Jewish New Year. The new year is 5772.
One of the themes of Rosh Hashanah is sweetness. A traditional greeting is “May you have a good and sweet new year.” Eating apples dipped in honey is a symbol of that wish. Since honey has a special place on the table, why not serve it in a vintage jar like this one? It's actually a jam jar in the Franciscan Apple pattern and sold for $125 in an online shop.
