February 2011

A retired worker from the British Cadbury Chocolate Factory visited Duke’s auction house in Dorchester, England, with a Ming vase in a cardboard box. He doesn’t want his name mentioned and he won’t tell how long he’s had the vase. But it should make his retirement more fun. The appraised value of the 600-year-old vase is about $1.6 million. When it is sold in May we will report the final price.
