Q: Can you tell me who made this vase? It is marked “Made in Belgium, Boch F, La Louvier, Fabrication,” and the rest is unreadable. It is signed “Ch. Catteau.” Is it valuable?

A: Brothers Eugene and Victor Boch and their brother-in-law, Jean-Baptiste Nothomb, established Boch Freres Keramis in La Louviere, Belgium, in 1841. Victor was the director of the factory. Charles Catteau (1880-1966), a famous designer, began working at Boch Freres in 1906. He was head of the design department from 1907 to 1948. Boch Freres is still in business. An 8-inch vase like yours is worth about $150.

I have a BOCH F La Lauviere what looks to me like a wash bowl and pitcher. It has stamp and the number 3384 on the bottom of the pitcher, it is 10 1/2 high, cream colored with gold trim. The bowl has the same paint markings and is stamped also. It is about 14 1/2 wide and 4 1/2 deep. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I have a small pottery cup, glazed in white annd handpainted with a simple floral ttrim in navy, dark green and dark red, a thin red line running around near the top. It is about 4″ tall. With the same marking as this vase on the bottom, italso reads “handpainted”, something else I can’t make out, and an F.
Can you identify it for me? thank you so much!
