November 2010

It's almost Thanksgiving. Are you serving turkey? Start a tradition of serving Thanksgiving dinner on decorated plates—like this one marked Blue Ridge. Southern Potteries of Erwin, Tennessee made Blue Ridge dinnerware from the late 1930s until 1957. Dishes were decorated with decals until 1938. Then the factory changed to hand-painted decoration.

This pattern is called "Thanksgiving Turkey." It sold at a Dirk Soulis auction in Missouri for $30.
