Cookie jars still fascinate collectors. This American Bisque Company cookie jar is marked with the ©1960. Only about six are known to exist. It features Herman and Katnip, cartoon characters. Hake’s online auction of May 27, 2010, sold the jar for $10,143.67 to a determined bidder. The price is probably a record for any cookie jar that did not belong to a celebrity. (Several very expensive cookie jars were sold in the Andy Warhol sale in 1988.)
