April 2010

Surprise! Spring has come, at least for now, and it’s time to get to work in the garden. Gardens and antiques go together. This majolica planter is one of a pair that sold for $3,105 at a spring Majolica Auction by Michael Strawser. The cachepots with underplates, decorated with lilies-of-the-valley, were made by George Jones & Sons, a Victorian English pottery.

Find prices of other majolica items here, and in Kovels' Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide 2010.
