Kovels.com ... Collectors' Top Twenty Choices for October 2007 Many collectors searching for clocks and Coca-Cola items were visitors to Kovels.com in October, making them two of the top twenty searched-for categories of the month. This art deco Coca-Cola clock sold recently at Rich Penn Auctions in Waterloo, Iowa. It's metal, electric and dates from the 1940s. It is also a "crossover collectible," with potential value to more than one group of collectors-clock enthusiasts, Coca-Cola collectors, and lovers of art deco items. Whatever their field of interest, wise collectors start their research at Kovels.com. The Kovels' Top Twenty list is based on the results of hundreds of thousands of searches that took place on its website during the month of October 2007. Stove surpassed jewelry as the most searched-for item. Two categories are new to the top twenty list-flow blue and sheet music. Elvis popped up again while cookie jar, pottery, painting, phonograph and Royal Bayreuth all dropped down. The complete Top Twenty for October 2007 are: 1. Stove People use Kovels' price guides and website for a number of reasons, the most common that they are just trying to determine the value of an item that they own. If an item is not listed on the Top Twenty list, it does not mean that it's unpopular or that there isn't a demand for it. It only means that in October there was less interest.
