Many collectors searching for Capo-di-Monte porcelain were visitors to Kovels.com in September, making it one of the top twenty searched-for categories of the month. They may have been looking for the value of a 1950s Capo-di-Monte flower basket they found in their grandmother's china cabinet, such as the one pictured here. It is for sale in an online shop for $66. Collectors with deeper pockets may have been interested in a Capo-di-Monte box like this one, which sold last month at Garth's Auctions in Columbus for $805. The Kovels' Top Twenty list is based on the results of hundreds of thousands of searches that took place on its website during the month of September 2007. Jewelry AGAIN topped the list. Besides Capo-di-Monte, there are four other categories new to the Top Twenty list: Planters Peanuts, Phonograph, Royal Bayreuth and Royal Dux. Also note the surge in World War II searches. This is probably due to Ken Burns' documentary "The War" which has been shown on PBS stations across the U.S. in recent weeks.
