Very little information has been available about the Shearwater Pottery in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Shearwater made pottery from 1928 until its buildings were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It is being rebuilt. Shearwater Pottery by Dod Stewart (Bristol Publishing, P.O. Box 5952, Slidell, LA 70469, 2005, hardcover, 339 pages, $90) is a thorough history of the Anderson family, founders of the pottery, and of the wares made at Shearwater.
