April 2007 Top Ten

May 2007

Kovels.com's free price list of over 600,000 prices for antiques and collectibles is visited by hundreds of thousands of people each month. This is the list of the top 10 hot spots in April 2007. Collectors and dealers look for prices of wanted items, items they are considering buying or selling, and information to use as a guide in financial matters like wills or insurance. And some just want to see old prices to learn how much their antiques have increased in value-- kind of like a Dow Jones guide to the market. This months "top" list is:

  1. World War II
  2. Jewelry
  3. Coca-Cola
  4. Stove
  5. Furniture
  6. Occupied Japan
  7. Royal Doulton
  8. Silverplate
  9. Lighter
  10. Bottle

The list reflects a special interest often influenced by current news or auctions. World War II moved up to first place, nudged by collectors looking up the values of grandpa's souvenirs. A recent ruling against selling war medals has created problems and and a change in prices for dealers of war memorabilia. The other items on the list are collectors' favorites, though we have no idea why stoves have become so popular.
